Yann Houndayi

Yann-Erroll Houndayi is an Advanced Year Therapist Intern here at Healthy Foundations Group. He is also a BHWISE Substance Use Disorder Intervention Fellow (SUDIF) at the University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Social Work. The prestigious BHWISE fellowship supposed advanced clinical training for graduate students dedicated to addressing substance use disorders through integrated behavioral health practices. Yann is currently completing his Master of Social Work degree, building upon a strong foundation with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. He brings a compassionate, resilient, and culturally responsive approach to his work. 

His clinical field experience as a Mental Health Intern at Identity Inc. provided him with invaluable skills in conducting client intakes and initial assessments, and in collaborating with school staff and community providers to coordinate mental health services for youth. He is skilled at creating a welcoming and supportive environment as the first point of contact for clients. This was preceded by his role as a therapeutic mentor as Advanced Behavioral Health, where he honed his ability to facilitate individual and group sessions, develop treatment plans under supervision, and mentor clients in effective coping strategies and organizational skills. Yann is passionate in providing equitable and accessible care to diverse populations.  

Through the BHWISE SUDIF fellowship and his field placement, Yann is dedicated to advancing his skills in evidence-based interventions for co-occurring disorders, SUD- based work, and helping to improve the lives of the individuals and commutes he serves.
