Rebecca Lorente is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
She graduated with her Doctorate of Nursing Practice and Masters of Science in Nursing from
the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing. As a doctoral student, she trained under Dr. David Driver
at Healthy Foundations Group and worked in the Intensive Outpatient Services Program with
middle school, high school, and young adult cohorts.
Rebecca has worked in mental health throughout her career. She graduated with degrees in
Psychology and Anthropology from the University of Maryland, College Park, where she worked
as a research assistant in a cultural psychology and neuroscience lab. After graduating with her
Masters in Nursing, she worked as a psychiatric nurse in the Children and Adolescent
Psychiatry inpatient unit at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. She is passionate about supporting
young clients’ mental well-being and promoting positive long-term health outcomes through a
collaborative, holistic care approach. Her goal is to make psychiatric care more personalized
and accessible, and to continue promoting the idea that mental health is health.
Rebecca continues her work in early-intervention psychiatry at Healthy Foundations Group and
within the Heartwood Program where she provides medication management for children,
adolescents, and young adults. Outside of HFG, she enjoys reading mysteries, trying new food,
baking, and traveling.
