Olivia Tinong

Advanced Year Therapist

Olivia is a clinician-in-training specializing in substance-use treatment. She is earning her MSW at the University of Maryland School of Social Work and was awarded a BHWISE SUDWE fellowship, a program that provides advanced training in evidence-based SUD care. Olivia completed her undergraduate degree in Social Work with a minor in Psychology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

With several years of direct patient-care experience and ongoing work as a Registered Behavioral Technician, Olivia brings practical clinical skills and compassionate care to Healthy Foundations Group. Her prior roles include coordinating reentry support for justice-involved individuals at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility and directing youth programming for Montgomery County’s Summer Fun Center.

Olivia’s approach is trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally responsive. She combines relational listening with practical tools such as motivational interviewing, harm-reduction strategies, brief behavioral interventions, and family-centered work to help clients build safety, skills, and sustainable change. She prioritizes collaboration and adapts interventions to each client’s context and goals.

Outside of work, Olivia is creative and entrepreneurial. She loves the outdoors and enjoys reading, drawing, swimming, nature walks, working out, and playing with her Maltese, Onyx. Her favorite vegetable is broccoli, loves grapes and her favorite color is yellow. She values mentoring undergraduate students interested in social work and practices centering prayer, self care and mindfulness to maintain balance as she brings that same creativity and grounded presence to her clinical work.
