Cynthia obtained her Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University as well as a Master’s in Forensic and Legal Psychology from Marymount University. She is currently a Resident Psychotherapist working towards LCSW licensure in the state of Virginia.
Cynthia’s clinical experience includes providing mental health & advocacy services to individuals of diverse backgrounds in non-profit, school based, and private-practice settings. Her focus includes supporting adolescents, young adults, and families through anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-esteem, family, and relationship challenges.
She believes in working collaboratively through a person-center approach drawing on techniques from modalities including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); Solution Focused Therapy (SFT); Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT); and Acceptance and Commitment (ACT). Cynthia strives to help clients develop insight and self-awareness to become a better version of themselves.
